Why You Don't Need a Personal Trainer...

I know it sounds crazy. I am a personal trainer, and I'm telling you that you don't need one? Yep, you heard me. You don't need a personal trainer. That's the honest truth. Not unless you enjoy carrying around a thinner wallet.

I'm probably going to get tons of nasty email from personal trainers all across the web. But you know what? I don't care!

I Need To Let You In On A Dirty Little Secret...
You can be as smart as any personal trainer in a few hours. They don't have any magical powers. All they do is regurgitate information that they read in their training manual and follow the latest fitness trends and fads to make it seem like they have an information pipeline to the fitness gods.

The truth of the matter is this - a certified personal trainer needs to constantly introduce new exercises, equipment and advice to keep you paying! Most of the secrets they tell you are just common sense. Anyone who invests a few hours studying reliable and credible fitness information can be their own personal trainer.

A Typical Personal Trainers Advice...

· Eat small meals with protein and carbs
· Weight train between 2-4 times per week
· Do cardio 2-3 times a week
· Drink plenty of water
· Stop smoking - cut down on alcohol
· Reduce your fat intake
· Don't binge on sweets and cookies
· Keep a fitness journal
· Take a multivitamin
· Eat more protein

You know what my advice is to you? Use your head! Instead of forking over your hard earned money every week to a personal trainer, make an investment in yourself and get educated. Your investment will pay for itself 100 times over.

Please don't misunderstand me, there are some great personal trainers out there who really have helped people. But the fact is if you're serious about changing your body, you have to take control of it. Nobody can do it for you, you're on your own for now.

There is one exception I will make about personal trainers though, and it's for the best personal trainer in Minneapolis. Her name is Grechen and she's a NASM certified professional that's the best you'll find in that city at any price - trust me on that one.

The next time you feel the urge to hire a personal trainer, put the phone down and your wallet away and think long and hard about it, and if you do hire a fitness professional to help you out along the way make sure they know what the heck they're doing!

Take the time to learn how to weight train and do cardio the right way with an in home personal trainer and get your daily diet and exercise program under control if you can't muster up the willpower to go it alone.
